The Bluetooth 4.0-oriented energy conservation

The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG), a group of actors involved in the development of Bluetooth wireless technology, today announced the adoption of technology to save energy for the next generation aircraft. This will be the trademark of Bluetooth version 4.0. Less expensive to manufacture and less energy, Bluetooth low energy wireless has already attracted Nokia, the world leader in mobile telephony.

In addition to being energy efficient, Bluetooth low energy wireless should reduce the latency in communication between devices and data transfer, the order of three milliseconds. The scope of the wireless connection is also increased, reaching over 100 meters. The data are on a secure encryption method more efficient.

According to the Bluetooth SIG will implement this technology in both the current models being manufactured and normally based on the technology’s “classic” Bluetooth in next-generation models.

Besides mobile phones, computers, TVs, this technology should be in watches, and other remote sensors for sports and health.
